The Personal Project is a highlight of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) at KAS. Completed by students in their final year of the MYP, it is an independent, self-directed project that gives each student the freedom to explore a topic, issue, or passion of their own choosing.
Working over an extended period with the guidance of a supervisor, students plan, create, and evaluate a substantial piece of work — whether a physical product, a performance, a piece of writing, or a community initiative. The process challenges them to apply skills developed across the MYP, including research, self-management, critical thinking, and reflection.
More than just a finished product, the Personal Project is a journey of growth. It culminates in a showcase event where students present their work and demonstrate what they have learned — about their subject, and about themselves.
